6 Steps to Make 2025 Your Best Year Ever
Let’s be real—whether 2024 was everything you dreamed of or completely threw you for a loop, every single thing you went through had value. Maybe that heartbreak, job change, or even just navigating life’s curveballs felt heavy, but trust me, it all adds up to growth (even if it didn’t feel like it at the time).
Now, as we step into 2025, I want us to approach it with clarity, intention, and a little bit of magic. These six steps are what I’ve used to realign myself when things felt out of control—and if they worked for me, I know they’ll do something amazing for you too. Let’s dive in:
Step 1: Reflect on 2024’s Ups and Downs
Before we rush into setting big goals, let’s pause and look back at what 2024 taught us. What worked? What didn’t? For me, last year was a mix of wins and lessons. I found myself saying “yes” to too many things (hello, burnout) and realized I needed better boundaries.
Grab a notebook and write down your highs and lows from the year. Not just the obvious stuff—dig deeper. Maybe that project you thought flopped actually taught you resilience. Or that relationship that ended made space for better connections. This kind of reflection isn’t just about the past; it’s about building self-awareness for the future so you don’t repeat the same patterns and end up in the same place again and again.
Step 2: Set Three Achievable Goals Each Day
Okay, hear me out—this isn’t about overloading yourself with a to-do list. I used to jot down 10 things every day I wanted to accomplish, only to feel defeated when I barely ticked off two. That’s why I switched to just three. It’s manageable, and honestly, more satisfying.
For example, if one of your long-term goals is to prioritize self-care, a daily goal could be as simple as taking a 15-minute walk or prepping a healthy meal. Start small and let those wins build momentum. And hey, if you crush those three goals early, add another! The key is to keep it doable.
Step 3: Write Your Goals Down and Get Specific
We’ve all had vague dreams like “I want to feel happier” or “I want to get fit.” But here’s the truth: goals without clarity often stay as ideas. Write your goals down and ask yourself: What does success look like?
These are my goals for 2025, and I hope they inspire you to reflect on your own. Let’s hold each other accountable and create a year we’re proud of.
Consistently post content that feels aligned and true to who I am (not forced).
Build deeper connections with my audience (hence why I started this website).
Prioritize rest without guilt. This is something I have struggled and still struggle with as the moment you go on social media it feels like everyone else is doing more than you. But you know what? Rest is also productive. I personally get my best ideas when I’m having a day off.
See how specific these are? The more clear you get, the easier it is to take action.
Step 4: Tie Your Goals to What You Love
This is one of my favorite hacks because it makes goals feel less like work. For example, one of my goals last year was to create more video content. But the thought of planning shoots or sitting down to edit felt overwhelming. So I started incorporating things I already enjoyed into the process—like filming little snippets while I did my makeup or went for walks. It didn’t feel like extra effort because I tied it to something I already loved.
What do you already enjoy doing? Maybe you love journaling, and that could be a way to brainstorm your next creative idea. Or maybe you’re into fitness, and you could pair that with listening to audiobooks on personal growth. Align your goals with what lights you up, and it’ll feel effortless.
Step 5: Clear Your Space (and Your Mind)
I’ll admit it: my inbox was chaos last year. Every time I opened it, I felt my anxiety spike. So at the start of this year, I made it a mission to clean things up—deleted old emails, unsubscribed from junk, and organized everything into folders. It was a small act, but wow, it made a difference.
This isn’t just about emails, though. Decluttering your physical space, desktop, or even your calendar creates room for new energy. Imagine stepping into 2025 with a clear mind and a clear space—it feels good, doesn’t it?
Step 6: Practice Gratitude (and Let Go of Complaints)
I know, I know—this sounds cliché. But honestly, it’s been a game-changer for me. Whenever I catch myself spiraling into complaints (because let’s be real, it happens to all of us), I take a breath and list three things I’m grateful for.
Another thing that helps? Reminding myself that nothing is that serious (apart from health issues, of course). Instead of overthinking or being overly hard on myself, I try to notice when I’m out of alignment. That awareness gives me the space to pause and remember: life is a game, and I’m just a small piece of the puzzle. It helps me realize that most of the things I stress over are temporary and simply not worth losing my peace over.
When I shift my focus to gratitude, my energy realigns. It feels like giving myself permission to let go of the weight of perfectionism and embrace the beauty of what is rather than obsessing over what isn’t.
And here’s the magic: gratitude doesn’t just improve your mindset—it attracts more good things into your life. It’s as if the universe listens and says, “Oh, you love this? Here’s some more of it!” So the next time you’re tempted to complain, try this little ritual: pause, breathe, and find even the smallest thing to be thankful for. Trust me, it will shift your entire perspective.
Gratitude doesn’t erase challenges, but it reminds you of what’s good. For example, one day last year, I was completely overwhelmed with work deadlines. Instead of focusing on the stress, I paused and thought: I’m grateful I get to do work I love. I’m grateful for the people supporting me. I’m grateful for this cup of coffee keeping me afloat today. Instantly, my mindset shifted.
Try it out—it’s small, but it works wonders.
